Harley Street Doctor
Mr Mark Whiteley MS FRCS(Gen) is a consultant vascular surgeon, who is internationally recognised for his research and development into varicose veins and venous conditions (thread veins, venous eczema, phlebitis, leg ulcers).

Mark introduced keyhole surgery for varicose veins into the UK in March 1999 and then introduced Laser Sweat Ablation for under-arm sweating into the UK in March 2009.
The Whiteley Clinic:
Mark Whiteley set up The Whiteley Clinic in 2001 as a specialist centre for
the "walk in walk out" treatment of varicose veins. He had been the first doctor
in the country to perform VNUS Closure for varicose veins, and it was this
operation in March 1999 that started the interest in keyhole surgery for
varicose veins.
Subsequent to his first operation, Mark continued to develop other techniques
taking on endovenous laser ablation (EVLA), foam sclerotherapy and inventing the
TRLOP closure for treating perforating veins of the legs.
Mark was joined by Judy Holdstock, senior vascular technologist, in 1999 and has
built a team around him of expert consultant surgeons, radiologists,
phlebologists, vascular technologists as well as nurses and administrative
staff.
Always an innovator, Mark performed the first Laser Sweat Ablation (LSA)
operation in the UK in March 2009. At that stage it was a new procedure and
needed considerable modification. Mark and his team have continued to perfect
the technique so that Laser Sweat Ablation is only performed by Mark Whiteley
all those that he has trained in his new techniques.
